How To Wear Sneakers and Dresses

Well friends….now that the election and ZIKA are behind us; we can move on to more positive things. [insert oy vey here]. My birthday is quickly approaching and with that usually comes a drastic change in seasons! Right now we are enjoying that in between period where it is freezing in the morning, hot in the afternoon, and freezing again at night. Even in Florida, the temps have finally dropped to 70’s, which means a light sweater or jacket is a requirement at night ! But don’t worry…I’m not complaining! Layering is key during transitional months, and for those of you who live in cooler climates may want to slap on a pair of textured black tights with your LBD, and keep your look streamlined with a dark slip-on sneaker. Gone are the days of orthotic sneakers with power suits.

This year I have literally paired  my Stan Smiths with everything from fitness spandex to denim to dresses. No matter what the look, I always feel chic and comfortable! The key is to keep them clean [which I may add is a challenge for a klutz like me]. If you are into something a little less sporty do not fret. There are so many cute slides and lace ups out there that play with fabric, color and texture! There is literally the perfect fit for every girl-on-the-go. You may have seen every ‘it girl’ out there rocking sneakers with dresses these days! The reason why? COMFORT is the key to happiness!

I happened to find this grey wool blazer on mega sale at Banana Republic, and even though it is no longer sold in stores, I have linked a couple of options here and here. A boyfriend blazer offers a touch of professionalism to even the most basic outfit, and the vintage Chanel scarf and necklace are nostalgic pieces I have acquired from my mom and on my honeymoon. For the record, this is my version of the sporty, cool corporate girl! So enjoy the last days of warmth, and throw your sneakers on with any and ERY-THANG!
