How is it that the winter is already upon us? It feels like the hubs and I were just throwing a BBQ in honor of Memorial Day Weekend.  Before we knew it, POOF, here we are: December 20, 2016.  The first day of winter! With that said, and regardless of how much you miss the lazy days of summer, isn’t there something sublimely magical about the holiday season? Even in Miami, I am currently craving hearty soup and the new holiday spice flat-white, on the regular. I think it may just be as the old saying goes: “You can take the girl out of New York, but you can NEVER take the New York out of the girl”…FUHGEDDABODIT! In between all of the hustle and bustle, people are a little bit kinder, and in a sense, are ready to throw their hands up to the year already behind us. Most of us just want to enjoy this time with family and friends, and drink as much egg nog as we can consume in one sitting. Preferably by a fire!

Not to wish the holidays farewell, but January is quickly approaching, and that has me thinking about my New Year’s resolution. I tell my friends “I make life resolutions”, but in the case of 2017, I truly want to take advantage of the great outdoors. In Florida, we have the opportunity to be outside during the winter months, but because I travel for work so much, I find myself battling the elements all the same. When I started modeling, I never thought I would be traveling as much as I am now. In years past, If I had to venture north or west, where snow was the norm during Jan-March, I would throw on as many warm-weather layers as I could, break out my Uggs [that are five years old btw] , and call it a day. These days, I need to not only layer up for travel, but if I am going to be traveling to cold cities like Seattle and New York, where I want to keep my New Year’s resolution, then you can bet I will be doing it with my friends over at lululemon.

Today’s post is all about ‘beating the winter blues’ and rising to the sweat-life occasion, one snowflake at a time. I want to encourage you to take your workout into the elements, and I will even make some suggestions on what to wear to keep cozy, healthy and warm!

Planning a Winter Run? Layer up in the First Mile Tight, jacket and and Swiftly Tech Long Sleeve Crew.

HIIT Training in the park? I loved working out in my new Going Places Jacket, with the Pace Rival Crop 19″ pant and Swiftly Teach Long Sleeve Crew underneath. Another option for top would be the Layer Me Turtleneck.

Layering Up to Leave the Studio? The Scuba Hoodie II is one of my all-time favs (esp for winter travel), but I also think the Kick The Cold Funnel Neck and Brave The Cold Jacket would make of a cozy winter combo!

Skating in the City? Don’t let bulk weight you down. Try the Rest Less 1/4 Zip paired with the Fit Physique Tight and Run For Cold Vest.

Rest Day Brunch? A girls got to live right?! The Jet Pant is my go-to, all day ery-day! I literally have them in four different prints, and have even blogged about how much I adore these perfect pants. I have styled them for travel and dressed them up for a business meeting! They are truly the most versatile pant around. Pair the Jet Pant with the Sweat and Savasana Sweater, and sip warm apple cider until your hearts delight.

Accessories Are Key! Proper winter accessories like this hat, scarf or gloves can help you ward off a cold that may try and slow you down! Throw it all in this tote, and you are ready to get your fit on…wherever your life takes you!

I am such a huge fan of so many lululemon pieces. From experience, I can tell you they wash extremely well, hold their shape, and are worth every pretty penny. I was so excited when they asked me to partner with them on this post, and I hope I helped you put together your next winter lululemon look! I would love to hear how you take your workout into the wild, and what pieces you would choose this holiday season!
